Beaver, Vail and back…

I’m headed out from Beaver Creek to Vail but will be back on Wednesday. Caught the last dump (Sunday) hope to catch the next (Thurs/Fri?).

VAIL

I’m over at Vail for a couple of days. I’m looking forward to checking out how the mountain is skiing. Since the recent snowfall 1/20-1/21, reports coming out of Vail have been good.

1/23 – Vail Mountain

Vail, Co

Weather & Temps: Low temp of 9 with a high reaching 18 on the mountain. Another Colorado Blue Bird Day. With all this daily sunshine, I get why people call Colorado home. The sunshine, skylines and horizons are all just really beautiful here.

Coverage looking solid.

Finally snow in the hills.

What up hommie?

That looks great. Where is everybody?

Where’s Jerry?

Low lying thin clouds messing with a bluebird day.

Frosted trees.

Finally starting to look right.

Clouds shading the trees for a moment.

Ski runs looking really good.

Clouds mixed with mountain peeks in the distance.

Don’t be a Jerry…throw your trash out.

Recap –

It was really good out there today. Still, not everything is open, but what is works and works well. The new snow is soft and holding edges great. Ice patches are mostly only found in bottleneck areas, forks in the runs or at the bottom of the run by the lifts. After 2 pm many groomed runs start to show signs of being skied off, while the un-groomed are still in good shape.

1/24 – Vail Mountain

Vail, Colorado

Weather & Temps: Started cool but warmed up quick. Blue skies as far as the eye can see.

Who you looking at?

Frosted hills in the distance across I70.

On da cat walk.

Another SPF 50 day.

Works for a day at the office.

Aspen Ski Instructor teaching on Vail Mountain.

Shredding with this guy today.

Tuesdays-when you can have your run.

Two for Tuesday; groomers & bumps.

Blinded by the light.

Wrapped by the beauty of the trees.

Another dump would help greatly.

The last of the snow covered trees.

Recap –

Things are starting to firm up and get skied off. The groomed runs are once again firm, with the occasional ice patch here and there. They are skiing and riding hard and fast. I recommend letting the sun come out and soften things up as well as skiing in the sunlight.

1/25 – Beaver Creek

Avon, Colorado

Weather & Temps – Not to bad today. Got hot quick but conditions are changing. low around 15 with a high reaching 40 degrees or more.

Great to hang with these guys today.

And these guys…

And these guys. Thanks.

Mostly cloudy morning turns to bluebird in the afternoon.

This way gents.

Not time yet . . .

Still seeing this crap on Jan. 25, 2018. You never know when things can change.

THE POW RETURNS

1/26 – Beaver Creek

Avon, Colorado

Weather and Temps – resort reports 2 inches overnight. It’s still snowing! Lows in the single digits with highs topping around 20. With the wind, temps felt closer to zero. Certainly became colder as the day went on. Was cold by end of the day. Probably received another inch during the day.

Quiet start to the morning.

Trees looking better.

Cpt. Big Daddy and Si.

Had the pleasure of skiing with this fine lady.

Yup getting back to normal.

Found these guys on the hill and right after …

The sun decides to shine through.

Chris cross will make ya…

Clouds starting to fade away.

Trees starting to look right. Is that a stream I see?

Jerry headed in…

Finally time to explore.

Love the pride boys.

Feedback

Like what I saw this week with feedback and comments. Unfortunately, I still need more. I know it was a powder week for many of you. So, if you have some great shots of you recently on the mountains, hills or just traveling send them to us and we will post them. Of course, please include your best JERRY Shots.

Received this early in the week

It’s a tough life, but someone has to live it.

Of course I have to live it, if not I’d be dead.

And unfortunately we hear and receive this all to often

Still not a lot of snow.

Patience

I have been sitting waiting here for the next expedition to begin. Sometimes its really hard for things to get going. There’s all the planning and review that goes into a days work; days and weeks ahead of time. So when everything comes to a standstill remember patience. If you are travelling remember to pack your patience. You will need it. Your patience will be tested, I can promise you that. How you react is up to you.

Job Posting

Bloomberg terminal

This is interesting. My hours are limited but I have solid experience. Need to know about renumeration. And no, I did not post this job listing, please do not contact me about it.

I’m sure this is a joke from one of my former clients and I find it funny, really funny. Lol. Seriously, if you posted this job and its real, I can help you.
