A Legend Skis On

WARREN MILLER

Legendary ski film maker Warren Miller died January 24, 2018. His passion for skiing and film-making introduced skiing and snowboarding to the world and so many of us. Warren Miller was the founder of Warren Miller Entertainment. He produced, directed and narrated his films for over 40 years. His trademark monotone voice and witty one-liners are just as unmistakable as his films are. He was the pioneer of ski films and his films became more popular as the ski industry itself kept growing larger. Kurt Miller, Warren’s son said that after decades on the slopes, his father’s philosophy was simply.

Spend more time with your family and friends doing something fun outdoors. That’s the key to what my dad stood for and everything he did in his life.

Here are some of my top favorite Warren Miller Quotes:

Don’t take life too seriously …because you can’t come out of it alive

It’s a fact. Unfortunately, this may be true as well . . .

If at first you don’t succeed, failure may be your thing.

As well as this . . .

Freedom is located somewhere outside the box.

Don’t think Warren is a fan riding switch.

twin tip skis have insured that today’s skiers can ride backwards, as much as they can forwards, why they want to do that? i don’t know . . .

And this gem, well it’s kinda become my motto

If you don’t do it this year, you will be one year older when you do.

Warren, thanks for all the countless hours of entertainment you have given us all. Your passion for skiing & film changed the ski industry forever. RIP WARREN MILLER.

I Trek On

I’m coming to the end of a 24 day run. It’s been real and fun and really fun sometimes.

1//27 – Beaver Creek Mountain

Avon, Co

Weather was cold today.

Great start to the day, with the suns rays shining though early morning clouds.

Like the attitude bro. Smile ear to ear, well sort of anyway.

Is it spring time yet?

Shhhh, don’t tell anyone about out secret stashes. That’s our secret.

Don’t forget to pay the bridge tariff.

Jerry & the boys.

Jerry checking himself out . . .goggles a little off bro.

Sun shining down on Beaver Creek Resort.

Lone boarder waiting …where your friends bro?

Look this way. Or that way. It’s all good.

Who you pointing at?

Solid poles bro.

Glades anyone?

Colorado horizon, hills showing minimal snow coverage.

Where’d the sun go?

Hello to you, but shouldn’t you have the safety bar down?

Run of the day: Glades of Primrose; still had the soft stuff.

Awesome Saturday out there. Skied with some amazing people today. I’ve decided to take a few days off. I’m going to rest and recuperate. February comes with new excitement, new possibilities and many more thrills.

Florida Bound

After a 24 day run, I’m sunshine state bound for a few days. Some warmer temps and salt in the air are the doctors orders.

Everyone needs a change of scenery. I had an opportunity to spend the day with some great friends. No, I’m not referring to the animals. It was not the mountains, but it was still a thrill.

The Serengeti at Busch Gardens

Chillin’ like a villain . . yup they’re Jerry’s friends to.

Grazing for a little lunch.

Happy Family

And hello to you my long necked friend. You are a beauty.

Thanks. That was the Broken Compass Brewery. Also, check out The Hangar for some live jam sessions and solid food.

But these 2 comments made us feel good . . .

You are KILLING it dude!

Dividends, residuals and royalties are a long slow process; we are having fun though.

Wow you open up with Captain America on Skis. I was LOL, great one pal.

Comments

Last week, I had the opportunity to ski/ride for MS. Yup, Multiple Sclerosis. I want to thank Michael Simmons, GM with Creekside at Beaver Creek. I had a great time with him and his group. If you have an interest in joining us next year, please reach out to him or me.

Not a bad looking group.

We are open to everyone. . .

Who wants to have fun.

Big ups to you and the group. Shout out to the guy who skied 43,000+ vert in one day. That’s huge. I have not even come close to that number in one day, but I hope to.

Remember there is disease, famine, unemployment and just people who need our help. Anything you can offer to help any of them would be great. One dollar or one thousand, you can make a difference. We all can. Thanks.

I’m offering guided resort day tours in Colorado in March for a very reasonable price. Please email me for more info.

Finally, if you want some free advertising and you have a business in the mountains hit us up. We want to feature your business.

PICS

Sy and crew.

Have any back up proof?

I see. I see. Congrats. Think you can top this?

Ouch. You may wanna think twice.

Where was this taken?

I love this pic. Here’s to more unity and sportsmanship this year.

Thanks again for reading this blog. I hope you all have a great finish to your week. Until next time, love one another and be kind to each other. Get out there, The Thrill of the Mountain is waiting for you. Ski on.
