Greetings friends I hope this post finds you doing well. Happy Memorial Day to all. With the unofficial beginning of summer here, I think it’s fair to say most of you have called it a season. But May has been super snowy in the West. There have been powder days abound. I’ve had a few of those myself but, of course, I missed a few too.

YOLO – FOLO –

Now I know I’m not the only one trying to live their best life. YOLO – You only live once. But what about FOLO – Fear of losing out. We must remember that anything, something, is better than nothing. And if we always expect it to happen, whatever the “if” is, then more times than not we are going to be let down and disappointed. Enjoy life to the greatest. But remember, sometimes, that means missing out. Dreams and goals come with great sacrifice. Life is full of sacrifice. So while I may not get every powder day, I know I get my fair share; more than most and I enjoy every one I get, especially those spent with family and friends. Live everyday to your fullest, with no regrets. Life is just too short and precious to waste.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

I found this from our friend Marcy:

This is the time of year we’ve sat aside to Remember Our Heroes. Howbeit, they should be honored daily for their enormous sacrifices for our country! May each of them Rest Well Through All Eternity! Wishing Everyone a Safe and Happy Memorial Day Weekend.

Great words. We honor those who serve and those who have lost their life serving.

THE THRILL OF THE MOUNTAIN

Here are some pics and inspiration from my last outing:

Looking up @Breckenridge from the South Lot.
Panorama view from the top.
LOOKS GOOD TO ME.
Looking back towards Peak 5 on Six Senses
I want to go there.
Love me a little cornice drop.
Just beautiful.
Do love me some freshies.
Getting a little soft.
Don’t mind if I do.
Lovely
Love the perspective from a distance.

Feedback continues to be entertaining. You continue to send us a little bit of everything. We received replies on FB and IG as well as the website: WWW.THRILLOFTHEMOUNTAIN.COM
You sent us texts, emails, notes, emojis and emoji-cons. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We are always grateful for anything and everything we receive and send thanks to those who send us stuff. Keep it coming my friends. Here’s some of what you sent to us last:

Received this from one reader after he saw some of the freshie I was riding

Wow . . .looks real nice!

Yup it looked nice, felt nice and rode nice.

I couldn’t tell if this reader was talking football or skiing.

Very cool . . . what’s the name of the bowl? I wish I was skiing.

That’s the Tostado’s Fiesta Bowl. Just kidding that’s the Horseshoe Bowl. I get it, I wish I was skiing to.

And when I told one fella that I’d grabbed a great apre deal after my ski day, he remarked:

Ya, you know me, I would have headed to that little fly shop in Avon as soon as I got my skis off. I bet they’re taking PMD’s when the temps break 55. Paradise ⛷🎣

A little skiing, a little fishing. Not a bad day fa sure. I do hope you get to do it some day. Conditions are ripe for that, daily double, right now.

SNOW CONDITIONS

5/24/2019 📷Travis Fitch

There is still plenty of snow around but most resorts are now closed. There are a select few resorts that still have lifts spinning. If you can get on the hill you will have fun. The snow comes in different qualities but it’s still not lacking in most places. It even comes in different shades and textures. Some brown stuff is starting to show in some places. Icy and firm conditions exist early and slushy mashed potatoes can be found later. It sure is a whole bunch of fun out there right now. Get out there while there is still snow on the ground. Before you know it, it will be gone, gone, gone.
