Having tried to get my cousins Brad and Maryanne out to the high country of Colorado for five years now it was just awesome when they told me they were in this season with their family as well as another family; also my cousins. Earlier this month another cousins club was held on the slopes in Summit county. I had another great opportunity to spend a week slopeside at Breckenridge Ski resort off of Four O’clock Run. Nothing like spending a week with your cousins who all share love for the mountains. What an awesome week with people that I really like. And to my hosts, who on this reunion are family, thanks for all the love and fun times both on and off the mountain. You made it an amazing week! Thank you, and I look forward to doing it again next year. Smiles from ear to ear. The proof is in the pics . . . enjoy.

Reader feedback continues to be both strong and entertaining. Well, at least I find it entertaining. You sent us a little bit of everything. We received replies on FB and IG as well as the website: WWW.THRILLOFTHEMOUNTAIN.COM
You sent us texts, emails, notes, emojis and emoji-cons. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We are grateful for anything and everything we receive and send thanks to those who send us stuff. Keep it coming my friends. Here’s some of what you sent to us last:

Imperial. Beautiful snow, short lift lines!

It’s a fun time up there. Glad to hear about short lift lines. Enjoyed this reply from a chance meeting at the top of the Imperial hike:

Great meeting you at the top of Imperial! The snow & extra vertical was worth the hike.

Glad you enjoyed it, bud. There is a reward, albeit sometimes small, for earning your turns. I get it, hiking, traversing, steeps, powder, it’s not for everyone. Not sure if this lady liked the steeps or not?

They made me do Whales Tail today OMG!!

Whales Tail is an old favorite of mine. Your line made me think of the late and great Warren Miller. As he said:

Once you take your first ride up a lift, you life will be changed forever.

We continue to receive snow and condition reports, although they are a little untimely now . . .here’s a few we received:

Over on chair six, crispy critter sweet.

Ok, I’ll go with it. And received this:

Not as much board scrape as I thought at Copper. Beautiful when the sun came out.

We like it soft fa’ sure; the softer the better. This comment sure did make me smile . . .

Enjoy the rest of the ski season. Missed your coffee this morning.

It’s the small things in life. I know, coffee is no small thing.

And regarding our continued use and production of videos, we’ve most definitely seen an uptick in feedback regarding what we have shared. Here’s some feedback regarding our vids.

I liked it.

and this one was very nice

That video was fabulous. I enjoyed watching everyone. They were all different level skiers and they all looked great. Made me want to do it. I am so jealous. If only I was 40 years younger I would try it.

It’s a fun time and you are never to old to give it a shot. I would make sure you are well insured though.

I really enjoyed this one . . .

Sorry I’ve been busy, haven’t gotten to it.

Totally understand. This was a nice response from one who did view it:

It actually came out really good.

What like it should be bad.?! Some people like watching others fall and crash.

I couldn’t help laughing at the crashes. I was hoping for more bonus footage.

and this one . . .

I like it. Those skiers fell like graceful ballerinas.

Is that what it looked like to you? Like this one . . .

Awesome video really good job with everything.

Thanks. And again, thanks for all the great feedback and comments.

SNOW CONDITIONS

LOOKS GOOD TO ME. 4/2/2019 -COPPER MOUNTAIN

There is still plenty of snow around on the mountain but spring skiing is definitely in season. The snow comes in different qualities but it’s still not lacking in most places. It even comes in different shades and textures. Some brown stuff is starting to show in some places. Icy and firm conditions exist early and slushy mashed potatoes can be found later. It sure is a whole bunch of fun out there right now. Closing days are right around the corner. Some are in the next week or two 😢

Get it while it’s good. Before you know it, it will be gone; like next week in some cases.

So get there while you still can.

LODGING

Creekside @ Beaver Creek; always a great option.

From one guest:

You helped save the day when our lodging options were not up to par.
