This past week was great. I had my sixteen year old cousin by my side. We went for a mini road trip around Colorado ski country. Wednesday was Steamboat. Thursday was Breckenridge and Friday Beaver Creek. We had some great quality time together, just talking about life and what the future may hold for us. I want to thank his parents for helping facilitate this experience for him. I think he had a great time. I enjoyed sharing time and the Colorado ski country with him. Here are some pics from our adventures. Enjoy.

Steamboat Ski Resort

Hot Air balloon over Steamboat Springs.

Beautiful Bluebird Day.

I see some green poking through. Is it spring time already?

I don’t think Jerry is gonna park his balloon here; but you never know with Jerry.

Ariel views of Steamboat Ski Resort.

Water flows in the creek.

Steamboat Gondola. Anyone going up?

View from the Village at Steamboat.

Did you know? You are in a National Forest. Routt National Forest.

Some Jerry’s trying to figure it out.

Heading up to hit the glades on the backside.

Colorado Blue Bird Day. What you looking at cuz?

Tabletop covered with snow in the distance.

Amazing Colorado landscapes.

Still some snow on the trees from Monday’s snowfall.

Skied with this cool family today. You guys are b.a.

Jerry’s friends.

Jerry and the boys.

Going up anyone?

Looking out into the valley.

Family

Jerry & Jerry.

Careful Jerry. Double diamonds and cliffs abound.

Danger Cliff. Careful there. Do be a Jerry . . . or have you got the skills to send it Jerry? Remember, never ski or ride above your ability. The results may be fatal.

Through the Aspens to gramma’s house we go. Don’t I wish.

What up Jerry?

Jerry’s artsy attempt.

Snow covered valley.

Jerry approved Steamboat postcard.

Lush evergreens in the forefront.

“Boat” views don’t suck. For sure.

The table tops on the horizon filled with snow.

My turn.

Some would say Jerry is a “Vagabond” other would say “He Lacks Concentration” and then some would say he has that “Heavenly Daze”. I’ll take them all as compliments . . . I think.

T-P for my bungholio. Heheh. I wrote it. I told my cousin I would.

Thanks again for reading this blog. I hope you all have a great start to your week. Until next time, love one another and be kind to each other. Get out there, The Thrill of the Mountain is waiting for you. Ski on.

Jerry selfie.

Steamboat his it…not a bad place to run some gates for a few days.

This place is filled with animals. I’m not referring to the guests. Anyway, do not feed the wildlife.

So long, fare well. See you next time.

Run of the Day:  Alarm Clock on MorningStar

Breckenridge, CO

Yes, Jerry has pride. I can see his rays of light shining down. It’s pride week in Breck. Who’s here?

Imperial and Horseshoe bowls await our arrival.

I can clearly cross the sky now.

Is that A-Basin straight ahead and Keystone on the right? Why yes it is.

Riding horseshoe bowl.

Office views of the Colorado Rockies.

Go get em cuz.

Looking good.

Some lone experts on the top of the ridge line of Peak 6. Do not attempt this. You can not ski/ride it. It’s way above your ability. Keep dreaming. You could die. Really. Try taking a fall and hitting one of those rocks. The results are not good.

The Highest Lift in North America

You made it to the top. Well done.

Jerry & Cuz

Evergreens looking green and lush.

But the top still looks to be barren.

While riding up the T-Bar.

Looking down from the top of the T-Bar

Mini lake seen at the bottom of Zoot Chute.

Run on the Day: Rustler in the Horseshoe Bowl

Beaver Creek

Avon, CO

I know those views.

Jerry and Cuz going up.

Looking towards Blue Sky Basin at Vail Mountain.

Not a bad view from the office today.

Clouds rolling in overhead to change the view a bit.

J.W. at it again. Saving the best, biggest and baddest for last.

The Men’s downhill course; GOLDEN EAGLE

Fridays never suck at Beaver Creek. THANK YOU.

Run of the Day: Raven Ridge into Golden Eagle on Grouse Mountain.

Feedback

Reader feedback, comments, and pictures were again strong this week. Thank you. Much appreciated. Keep up the good work. Again, here are some of the great comments we received this week:

Love the blog

Thanks. So do we. It’s a labor of love.

Oy, Always gorgeous!!

We always love it when we get this:

Thank you so much for the awesome pictures.

Thank you and thanks for this as well:

Soooo beautiful!!

And I’m sure most of our readers would agree with this:

I want to be on the slopes and not at my desk

In the words of the great Homer Simpson “duHHHH” And some other genius said “a bad day on the mountain beats your best day in the office” That’s like rubbing salt in a wound. Anyway, I get it. You want to be back. Calgon take me away. Like I always say and write:

The Thrill of the Mountain is waiting for you

SNOW CONDITIONS

Resort conditions are good. In a few more weeks, I doubt I will be writing that. Now is the time people. Closing day will be here before you know it. Spring break is a really fun time. With a little luck, some fresh powder and blue bird days; Colorado ski life at it’s best. Get out there and enjoy it. #OPTOUTSIDE

Thank you. I had a blast. I look forward to it again next year.

CMM thanks for the guided trip through the trees today. That was probably something that I would have missed had you not showed me the way.

Glad you enjoyed a tour of the glades. It was my pleasure.

Just the other day I found this in my inbox:

We had the best time ever!! Thank you for navigating the mountain for us, for the snow shoe tour, for teaching us how to ski better and for being so wonderful and patient and welcoming to our entire crew!!
