THANKFUL? HAPPY THANKSGIVING

BACK AT IT – SLIDING DOWN THE HILL

Snow has fallen and resorts have opened. After a brief summer and fall hiatus I’m back at it. I’m making turns and sliding away. What a feeling it is just slip sliding away. Paul Simon said it best..

You know the nearer your destination,  the more you’re slip sliding away.

It feels really good to be back out there. Inspiring for sure. These are words I am very thankful to be able to write. As I sit here and write from my home office, back from another trip in the alpine, I am so very thankful for life’s opportunities. I am thankful to be surrounded by love and those that love me. I am thankful I can pursue my passions and life dreams. By you reading this blog, you are a big part of my ability to make that happen, so thank you for all of your support and help. I am thankful for so much more, but mostly I am thankful I can share this with all of you!

Here are some pics from my last trip out . . .I am thankful I can share them with you.

Enjoy

Breckenridge, CO

A little hard pack on the HWY 9, Breckenridge Ski Resort in the background.

Summit of Peak 9 visible through the clouds

Some of Breck’s Peaks and Bowls

Sunny Days

Up, Up we go

Beautiful runs

Beautiful Colorado Bluebird Skyline

Back Bowls looking good.

Good views of Keystone Ski Resort and A-Basin in the background.

These awesome views still never get old.

Lines formed quick once people realized the 6 Chair was open.

Common jacket color I suppose.

I’m still in line  . . .wow all these people want to go where I go.

Nice views of the steeps straight across while we wait in line.

I do love me some trees.

A little cool down before I call it a day.

Day one in the books! Nothing better than an apre at this place…Broken Compass Brewery

Is that a Thrill of the Mountain Sticker I see on the wall.

Day 2

Back at it we go. Another lovely day.

The backside looking good.

Fully covered gully runs.

And still plenty of freshie to be had.

CM MAN right in the middle of it.

Picturesque views if I don’t say so myself.

Send it bro . . .

I think I just might . . .

Plenty of fresh tracks to be had in Contest Bowl.

That sun is shining down on the deep tracks.

Perfect natural rock feature for a sendie. Free pair of gloves for the first video I receive of one of my readers sending it. Your ball . . .

Looking out from Contest Bowl across the Continental Divide.

Looking back up at Contest and Horseshoe Bowls.

Oh my, That beautiful Colorado landscape. Isn’t she just lovely. Town of Breckenridge towards back right of the picture.

Colorado sun shining down.  Taking it all in before I call it a day.

Take a book / Leave a book / Write a book – Ski Days; my life on and off the Mountains.

Day 3 – Temps just keep getting warmer.

That’s why they call it a Colorado Bluebird.

Views of the high alpine.

Another great day at the office ‘cuz.  Keep up the good work.

Some natural moguls below the high alpine bowls.

Come on down, you’re the next contestant on the Price is Right. JK maybe the next contestant to a yard sale.

People ask me how deep. . .this deep, is what I tell them.

About a foot deep . . . laying down our own fresh tracks.

What up buddy??? Thanks again for everything. Give my best to Yogi Bear.

The boys in black are back again.

A nice base has formed in the trees.

I love this place. Even the flats are beautiful.

Back up we go . . .

Thumbs up to you brother. . . to an amazing season. What’s open man?

Nice poles man. To keep that 9 month season alive you may want to opt for the helmet. Just saying . . . it does keep the head warm.

Chillin @ SKI HILL

Enjoyed it greatly my friends.  Slip Sliddin’ Away . . .

Ditto. Don’t stop learning, living and staying active. Good words to live by for sure. Around here I think most of us are in agreement to this:

I’m sure you’re happy it’s ski season.

No doubts there. Love it when I received this:

Life is amazing. So happy to be alive and in the present.  Smiled when I saw this:

Jerry the skiing tour guide!!

I get it. This mountain life is not for everyone.

I stay right there on “outer limits” where everyone can review the goods of my “yard sale” when I blow up

I admire your confidence. This was a nice reply to receive from one reader

I am happy for you. I think it’s great that you are able to get out this early in the season.

Very low expectations with early season but I will take any time on the mountain. Always appreciate some extra motivation like one reader sent me:

Go get um brother and lay it down today!!!

I lay it down everyday . . .when I go to sleep that is.  This was nice:

Wow it looks fantastic

It was.

SNOW CONDITIONS

Resorts are open.  The beginning of the 2018/2019 winter season is fast underway.  October came and went and November is also almost in the books. The early season snow gods have been very generous. Conditions are really good; really good. More and more terrain is opening daily.  Fresh powder and blue bird days will continue to draw my friends into the high country. Find that powder people! Get out there and enjoy it. THE THRILL OF THE MOUNTAIN AWAITS YOU. #POWDER2THEPEOPLE

SEASON PASSES

I don’t know if you can still buy a season’s pass. If you can, I would do it now. If not, paying for your buddy’s lodging and dinner is not a bad way to barter for a day ticket.
